Cooking Instructions

1

Preparation

Preheat your broiler, fryer, or grill depending on the cooking method you choose.

2

Season the Fish

Rinse the whole flounder under cold water and pat dry. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the flounder, inside and out.

3

Cooking Methods

For Broiling: Place the flounder on a broiler pan and broil for about 5-7 minutes on each side until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. For Frying: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the flounder for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. For Blackening: Heat a cast-iron skillet until very hot, then sprinkle blackening seasoning on both sides of the flounder and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.

4

Serving

Remove the flounder from the heat and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve with lemon wedges and your choice of sides.
