Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Fish

In a shallow dish, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the redfish fillets and coat well. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Choose Cooking Method

You can either broil, fry, or blacken the marinated redfish fillets.

  3. 3

    For Broiling

Preheat the broiler. Place fillets on a greased broiler pan and broil 4-6 inches from heat for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

  4. 4

    For Frying

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add butter. Once melted, add the fillets and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    For Blackening

Heat a cast-iron skillet until very hot. Add a small amount of oil and then the fillets. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until a dark crust forms and fish is cooked through.
