Cake and Flan
Method
Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- 2
Prepare the Flan Mixture
In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream cheese, and 2 eggs. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Combine and Bake
In a greased 9-inch round cake pan, pour the cake batter first, followed by the flan mixture on top. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean.
- 4
Cool and Serve
Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate. Serve warm or chilled, topped with toasted almonds, walnuts, and freshly whipped cream.
