Method

Cheeseburger Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form the beef into two equal patties, about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, split the burger buns and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, then the cooked patty, slices of tomato, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.

French Fries Directions

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into sticks, about ¼ inch thick. Soak the potato sticks in water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying for 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy.

  4. 8

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt to taste while they are still hot.
