Method

Prepare Wonton Tacos

  1. 1

    Preheat Oil

In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Shape Wontons

Gently press each wonton wrapper into a muffin tin to form a taco shape. Make sure they are well-fitted.

  3. 3

    Fry Wontons

Carefully drop the wonton wrappers into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with taco seasoning.

Prepare Blackened Tuna

  1. 4

    Season Tuna

Rub the fresh tuna steaks with olive oil and coat generously with blackening spice blend on all sides.

  2. 5

    Sear Tuna

In a hot skillet or grill, sear the tuna steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time based on your preferred doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 6

    Prepare Fillings

In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and sliced green onions. Toss together lightly.

  2. 7

    Slice Tuna

Slice the rested tuna into thin strips.

  3. 8

    Build Tacos

In each crispy wonton taco shell, layer the cabbage mixture, sliced tuna, avocado slices, and top with fresh cilantro.

  4. 9

    Drizzle Sauce

In a small bowl, mix sour cream and chipotle sauce together. Drizzle over the assembled tacos.

  5. 10

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
