Dusting
Method
Preparing the Lady Fingers
- 1
Prepare Espresso Mixture
Brew strong espresso and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, mix in the coffee liqueur.
- 2
Soaking the Lady Fingers
Quickly dip each lady finger into the espresso mixture for about 1 second, ensuring they absorb some liquid but do not become soggy. Arrange them in a single layer in a 9x13 inch dish.
Making the Mascarpone Mixture
- 3
Whip Heavy Cream
In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- 4
Prepare Egg Yolks
In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.
- 5
Combine Mascarpone
Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth.
- 6
Fold in Whipped Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assembling the Tiramisu
- 7
Layering
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked lady fingers in the dish. Add another layer of soaked lady fingers on top, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 8
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 9
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top layer with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
