Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each part into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness, or until the desired doneness is reached.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 3

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the pub buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Chop the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rounds.

  3. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Layer with lettuce, a slice of tomato, a few rings of onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
