Tater Kegs

Method

Tater Kegs Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Tater Kegs

Take a frozen tater tot and using your fingers, press it down to flatten slightly. Place about 1 tablespoon of the cheese and bacon mixture in the center and mold the tater tot around the filling, reshaping it into a ball. Repeat with remaining tater tots.

  3. 3

    Fry the Tater Kegs

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the filled tater kegs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 4-6 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Queso Dip Preparation

  1. 4

    Melt the Queso Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cubed Velveeta cheese, drained Rotel tomatoes, milk, and diced jalapeños. Stir frequently until the cheese is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

  2. 5

    Serve

Transfer the queso dip to a serving bowl and serve warm alongside the crispy tater kegs.
