Method
Prepare the Fries
- 1
Fry the Frozen French Fries
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the frozen French fries in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season lightly with salt.
Make the Beer Chili
- 2
Brown the Ground Beef
In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

- 4
Add Remaining Ingredients
Stir in the beer, tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assemble the Chili Cheese Fries
- 5
Layer the Fries
On a large platter or serving dish, layer the hot, crispy fries evenly.
- 6
Top with Chili
Spoon the beer chili generously over the fries, ensuring an even distribution.
- 7
Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the hot chili, allowing it to melt slightly.
- 8
Serve with Toppings
Serve immediately with sour cream and sliced jalapeños on the side for topping.
