Method
Chicken Fried Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place flour in one, buttermilk in the second, and beaten eggs in the third.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast first in flour, then dip in the buttermilk, and finally coat with the beaten eggs followed by another dip in flour to coat evenly.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Country Style Gravy
- 5
Make the Gravy
Using the drippings from the fried chicken, add all-purpose flour to the skillet over medium heat. Whisk continuously to create a roux, cooking for about 1-2 minutes.
- 6
Add Broth
Gradually whisk in the chicken broth until smooth. Continue to cook, whisking frequently until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.
Garlic Gouda Mashed Potatoes
- 7
- 8

Steamed Broccoli
- 10
Steam the Broccoli
In a steamer basket over boiling water, add the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for about 4-6 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Season with salt to taste.
