Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 7

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently to secure.

Side Preparation

  1. 8

    Choose Your Side

Select one of the sides: French fries, apple slices, or carrot sticks.

  2. 9

    Prepare the Side

If choosing French fries, cook according to package instructions. For apple slices or carrot sticks, simply wash and cut them as needed.

Serving

  1. 10

    Serve the Meal

Place the assembled cheeseburger on a plate, alongside the chosen side and a can of soft drink.

  2. 11

    Optional Dessert

If desired, add a scoop of ice cream on the side for dessert.
