Preparation of the Torte

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or springform pan with butter and line the bottom with parchment paper.

Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine the Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.

Fold in the Apples
Gently fold in the sliced apples to the batter until evenly distributed.

Pour into the Pan
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake the Torte
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Slice the Torte
Once the torte has cooled completely, slice it into wedges.

Plate the Dessert
On each plate, place a slice of the apple torte. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Drizzle with Caramel
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the slice of torte and ice cream just before serving.
