Method
Coffee Base
- 1
Measure and grind
Measure 18 g of coffee beans (about 2 heaping tablespoons). Grind to the appropriate consistency for your brewing method: medium-coarse for pour-over, medium for drip, or fine for espresso.
- 2
Heat water
Heat 300 ml of water to 93–96°C (200–205°F). If you don't have a thermometer, bring to a boil and let rest 30 seconds.
- 3
Brew
Brew the ground coffee with the hot water using your preferred method: pour-over (bloom 30s then pour remaining water over 2–3 minutes), drip machine (follow machine instructions), or French press (steep 4 minutes then press). Aim for a final brewed coffee volume of about 250–270 ml after grounds absorption.

Customization notes
Adjust coffee strength by changing coffee-to-water ratio: more coffee for stronger, less for milder. Use flavored syrups, non-dairy milks, or a splash of cream for different profiles. Serve immediately for best aroma.
