For the Chicken Marinade
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, and lemon juice. Add the chicken breast pieces, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
For the Sauce
- 2
Cook the Chicken
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

- 4
Add Tomato Puree
Add the tomato puree to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
- 5
Finish the Sauce
Stir in the coconut cream, garam masala, and cumin powder. Return the browned chicken to the skillet and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors of the sauce.

Garnish and Serve
Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
