Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into triangle-shaped pieces.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a few tortilla triangles at a time to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain the Chips

Remove chips with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Season with salt while they are still hot.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño pepper, and cilantro into small pieces.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño. Add lime juice and salt to taste.

  3. 7

    Chill the Salsa

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
