Mushroom Caps
Stuffing
Method
Preparation of Mushroom Caps
- 1
Clean the Mushrooms
Gently wipe the mushroom caps with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Avoid soaking them in water as they can absorb moisture.
- 2
Remove Stems
Carefully twist and remove the stems from the mushroom caps. Set the caps aside and finely chop the stems for the stuffing.
- 3
Brush with Olive Oil
In a large bowl, toss the mushroom caps with olive oil until well coated. This will help them brown nicely in the oven.
Stuffing Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped mushroom stems, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, softened cream cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- 5
Mix Thoroughly
Use a fork or your hands to mix the ingredients until well combined. The mixture should be thick and hold together.
Assembly and Baking
- 6
Stuff the Caps
Using a small spoon or your fingers, fill each mushroom cap with the stuffing mixture, pressing down gently to pack it in.
- 7
Arrange on Baking Sheet
