Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms. Let it cool for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat the oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the churros

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. 5

    Coat in cinnamon sugar

Remove churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. In a shallow dish, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon, then roll the churros in the mixture until coated.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve warm with honey and chocolate sauce for dipping.
