Method
Bread Pudding Preparation
- 1
Prepare Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the French bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes and gently fold to combine. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.
- 4
Bake the Pudding
Transfer the bread mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
Whiskey Sauce Preparation
- 5
Melt Butter
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 6
Add Sugar and Whiskey
Once the butter is melted, add the granulated sugar and Maker's Mark whiskey. Stir well to combine.
- 7
Simmer Sauce
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 8
Finish with Cream
Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
