Cake Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it is hot enough for the cake.
- 2
Prepare the Ramekins
Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking. Place them on a baking sheet for easy handling.
Making the Cake Batter
- 3
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and bittersweet chocolate. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- 4
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until the mixture is pale and thick.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously until well combined.
- 6
Add Vanilla, Flour, and Salt
Stir in the vanilla extract, followed by all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
Baking
- 7
Fill the Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
Serving
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve immediately with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
