Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Prepare the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and juices run clear. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 5
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- 6
Add Garlic and Cream
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
- 7
Incorporate Cheese and Seasonings
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combining and Serving
- 8
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- 9
Add Grilled Chicken
Slice the grilled chicken and place it on top of the pasta. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- 10
Serve
Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your creamy Chicken Alfredo!
