Method
Prepare Taco Meat
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Once the meat is browned, drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- 3
Simmer
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens.
Prepare Taco Shells
- 4
Warm the Taco Shells
While the meat is simmering, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place taco shells on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for about 5 minutes.
Assemble Tacos
- 5
Fill the Taco Shells
Once the taco shells are warm, remove them from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the taco meat mixture into each shell.
- 6
Add Toppings
Top each taco with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and diced tomatoes.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately while warm and enjoy your delicious plain taco!
