Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Jalapeños
Wash the jalapeños thoroughly. Cut them in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes carefully using a spoon or a small knife to reduce the heat level.
- 2
Make the Filling
In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 3
Stuff the Jalapeños
Using a spoon or a pastry bag, fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, packing it in tightly.
Breading and Frying
- 4
Prepare the Breading Stations
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. In the first dish, place the flour. In the second dish, beat the eggs. In the third dish, place the breadcrumbs.
- 5
- 6
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Fry the Jalapeños
Carefully place the breaded jalapeños in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- 8
Drain and Serve
Once fried, remove the jalapeños from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
