Method
Preparing the Pork
- 1
Cook the Pork
In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder and season it with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add a cup of water or broth to the slow cooker.
- 2
Slow Cook
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork. If you are short on time, you can cook it on high for 4 hours.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.
Assembling the Taquitos

Prepare Tortillas
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the corn tortillas on a flat surface and warm them slightly in a microwave for about 30 seconds, so they are easier to roll.
- 5
Fill and Roll
Take a warmed tortilla, add a couple of tablespoons of shredded pork and a sprinkle of cheese. Roll the tortilla tightly and place it seam-side down on a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
