Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Press the seasoning into the meat to adhere.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a large cast-iron skillet or grill pan over high heat until it is very hot, about 5 minutes. Add olive oil to the pan and swirl to coat.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks in the hot pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving them, until a deep brown crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steaks using tongs and add the garlic cloves, fresh rosemary, and butter to the pan. Sear for an additional 3-4 minutes on the second side for medium-rare.

  6. 6

    Baste the Steaks

Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the melted butter and pan juices over the steaks as they cook. This enhances flavor and keeps the meat moist.

  7. 7

    Check Doneness

Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, it should read 130°F (54°C). Adjust cooking time as needed for desired doneness.

  8. 8

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the pan and transfer them to a cutting board. Let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  9. 9

    Serve

Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked Prime Cowboy Ribeye!
