Bison Filet Ingredients

Method

Bison Filet Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade for the bison filet.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Filet

Place the bison filet in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the filet, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a tablespoon of olive oil to the pan once it’s hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Bison Filet

Remove the bison filet from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Place the filet on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time depending on thickness and desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter for Flavor

During the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the skillet or on the grill. As it melts, spoon it over the filet to enhance the flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Meat

Once cooked to your liking, remove the bison filet from the heat and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the bison filet against the grain and serve it warm. Enjoy your perfectly cooked bison filet!
