Method
Steak Preparation
Season the Steak
Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
Sear the Steak
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steaks and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.
Fries Preparation
Cut the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thick fries, about 1/4 inch wide.
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes them crispier.
Fry the Potatoes
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Remove the fries from the water, pat them dry with a kitchen towel, and carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.
Garlic Butter Preparation
Make the Garlic Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and cook gently for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice, then remove from heat.
