Main Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Let it Rest

Allow the seasoned steaks to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This step helps the meat cook evenly.

Grilling the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450-500°F or 230-260°C). Ensure the grates are clean and well-oiled to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the ribeye steaks on the grill and close the lid. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare, then flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes on the other side.

  3. 5

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of grilling, place a sprig of fresh rosemary on each steak to infuse flavor.

  4. 6

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Aim for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare. Adjust grilling time as necessary.

  5. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Optional Side Preparations

  1. 8

    Prepare Vegetables

Toss vegetables with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill alongside the steak for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

  2. 9

    Prepare Potatoes

For mashed potatoes, boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, milk, and seasonings. For baked potatoes, pierce the skin with a fork, rub with olive oil, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 45 minutes.
