Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Chicken Preparation
- 2
Grill the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from heat, let rest, and then slice into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Alfredo Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add a pinch of nutmeg, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Allow the sauce to simmer for a few more minutes until it thickens slightly.
Combine and Serve
- 4
Combine Pasta with Sauce
In a large mixing bowl or pot, combine the drained fettuccine with the Alfredo sauce. Toss until the pasta is fully coated in the sauce.
- 5
Plate the Dish
Serve the creamy fettuccine Alfredo topped with the grilled chicken strips. Garnish with chopped parsley for added flavor and color.
