Preparing the Bread
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Making the Topping
- 3
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 4
Prepare the Basil
Rinse the basil leaves under cold water, pat them dry, and chop them coarsely. Add to the bowl with tomatoes.
- 5
Add Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.
- 6
Season the Mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir gently to combine all ingredients evenly.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- 7
Top the Toasts
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato topping generously onto each slice of toasted baguette.
