Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Step 1: Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Mix in Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Add Eggs

Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Frying the Churros

  1. 4

    Step 4: Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Step 5: Pipe the Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Once the oil is hot, pipe strips of dough (about 6 inches long) directly into the oil.

  3. 6

    Step 6: Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 7

    Step 7: Coat the Churros

In a shallow dish, mix together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 8

Step 8: Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir continuously until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
