Filet Mignon
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Method
Filet Mignon
- 1
Prepare the Steaks
Remove the filet mignon steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

- 3
Cook the Steaks
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steaks. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).
- 4
Rest the Steaks
Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Cook the Garlic
While the potatoes boil, peel and smash the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
