Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by slicing the avocados in half, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into a mixing bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork to your desired consistency.

  2. 2

    Chop the Onions and Cilantro

Finely chop the red onion and add it to the mashed avocados. Rinse and chop the cilantro leaves, discarding the stems, and add to the bowl.

  3. 3

    Add the Serrano Pepper

Finely chop the serrano pepper, removing the seeds if you prefer less heat. Add it to the bowl with the other ingredients.

  4. 4

    Juice the Lime

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into the mixture. This adds flavor and helps prevent the avocados from browning.

Mixing

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Gently mix all the ingredients together with a spoon until well combined. Be careful not to over-mix if you prefer a chunkier guacamole.

  2. 6

    Season to Taste

Taste the guacamole and add salt or additional lime juice as needed. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Chips

Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and serve immediately with chicharrones or tortilla chips as a dipping option.
