Baking Instructions
- 1
Preparing the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mixing the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Kneading the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- 5
Shaping the Loaf
Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- 7
Baking the Bread
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- 8
Cooling
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
