Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguini

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Shrimp Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 3

    Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the raw shrimp to the sauce and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque.

  4. 5

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the fresh chopped basil and let it cook for another minute. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serving

  1. 6

    Combine and Serve

Serve the shrimp marinara sauce over the cooked linguini. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and additional fresh basil if desired.
