Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguini

Add the linguini to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 9-11 minutes, until al dente.

  3. 3

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the linguini and set aside. Do not rinse.

Preparing Shrimp Diavolo Sauce

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Add Red Pepper Flakes

Stir in 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, allowing them to infuse in the oil for about 30 seconds.

  4. 7

    Add Crushed Tomatoes and Wine

Pour in the 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes and 1 cup of dry white wine. Stir well to combine.

  5. 8

    Simmer Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 9

    Add Shrimp

Add the 1 lb of peeled and deveined shrimp to the sauce. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.

  7. 10

Stir in 1 cup of chopped fresh basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
