Ingredients for Chocolate Obsession
Method
Directions for Chocolate Obsession
- 1
Prepare the Brownie Layer
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- 2
Prepare the Chocolate Mousse
In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. In another bowl, whisk the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 3
Assemble the Layers
Once the brownie is completely cool, cut it into even layers if needed. Spread a layer of chocolate mousse over the brownie, smoothing it out evenly. Repeat this process for additional layers if desired.
- 4
Make the Ganache
In a small saucepan, heat the 0.5 cup of heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate, letting it sit for a minute. Stir until smooth and glossy. Pour the ganache over the top layer of the mousse, allowing it to drip down the sides.
- 5
Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least 2 hours to set. Slice and serve chilled, enjoying the rich layers of brownie, mousse, and ganache.
