Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 6
Shape the Pizza
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to your desired thinness. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 7
Add Toppings
Spread the vine-ripened tomato sauce evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, and add fresh basil leaves and black pepper to taste.
- 8
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 9
Slice and Serve
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy your thin crust pizza!
