Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the crumbled Italian sausage. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 3
Add Vodka and Cream
Carefully pour in the vodka, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Allow the vodka to simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Then, reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream, mixing until well combined.
- 4
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 5
Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
