Preparation of Pork
- 1
Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
Final Steps
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.
- 4
Mix with BBQ Sauce
In a large bowl, combine the shredded pork with the BBQ sauce. Mix until the pork is well coated.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwiches
Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a generous amount of the pulled pork mixture on the bottom half of each bun. Top with coleslaw and cover with the top half of the bun.
