Cinnamon Sugar

Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Boil Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Mix Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes, then add the 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon until well combined.

Fry the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat until the temperature reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Dough into Oil

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length with kitchen scissors.

  3. 7

    Fry Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

Immediately roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
