Tortilla Chips

Salsa

Method

Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into quarters to form triangles.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Tortilla Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles in batches to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle salt over the chips while they are still hot.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the fresh tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper (remove seeds for less heat).

  2. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime Juice and Seasoning

Pour lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

    Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to rest for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together before serving.
