Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Sugar
In a rocks glass, add the sugar and bitters. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the sugar until it starts to dissolve.
- 2
Add Bourbon
Pour in the bourbon over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the glass with ice cubes, preferably large ones to minimize dilution.
- 4
Stir
Using a bar spoon or a stirring stick, gently stir the mixture to combine the ingredients and chill the drink.
- 5
Garnish
Take the orange slice and express the oils over the drink by gently twisting it. Optionally, you can drop the slice into the glass for a garnish.
