Method

Preparation of Custard

  1. 1

    Whisk the Custard Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.

Cooking French Toast

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Allow it to melt and coat the surface.

  2. 3

    Dip the Bread

Take each slice of the thick bread and dip it into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not soaked.

  3. 4

    Cook the Bread

Place the dipped bread slices onto the heated skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. 5

    Add More Butter

Add additional butter to the skillet as necessary for cooking the remaining slices.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve Hot

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and serve immediately with maple syrup drizzled on top. You can also add a sprinkle of powdered sugar or fresh fruits if desired.
