Prepare Cream Mixture

Mix the Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined and smooth.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Be gentle to maintain the lightness of the cream.
Prepare Coffee Mixture

Brew Espresso
Brew 200 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool slightly.

Mix with Liqueur
If using, stir the coffee liqueur into the brewed espresso and set aside.
Assemble Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the cream mixture, followed by the remaining cream mixture.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and set.

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for a finishing touch.
