Method

Prepare Cream Mixture

  1. 1

Mix the Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  2. 2

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined and smooth.

  3. 3

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Be gentle to maintain the lightness of the cream.

Prepare Coffee Mixture

  1. 5

    Brew Espresso

Brew 200 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool slightly.

  2. 6

    Mix with Liqueur

If using, stir the coffee liqueur into the brewed espresso and set aside.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the cream mixture, followed by the remaining cream mixture.

  4. 10

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and set.

Serve Tiramisu

  1. 11

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for a finishing touch.

  2. 12

    Slice and Enjoy

Cut into squares and serve chilled, enjoying the rich coffee-flavored layers.
