Breading and Frying the Fish
- 3
Prepare the Breading
Place the all-purpose flour in a shallow dish. Lightly season with salt and pepper.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 5
Bread the Fish
Coat each marinated fish in the flour, shaking off excess flour.
- 6
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated fish in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 7
Drain the Fish
Once cooked, remove the fish from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Cooking the Rice
- 8
Rinse the Rice
Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 9
Cook the Rice
In a pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
