Secret Sauce

Buns

Method

Prepare the Secret Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Prepare the Patties

  1. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the ground beef into 2 equal parts and form each into a loose ball. Do not overwork the beef.

  2. 3

    Season the Patties

Sprinkle salt and black pepper on both sides of the beef balls.

Cook the Patties

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 5

    Smash the Patties

Place the beef balls onto the hot skillet, and using a spatula, smash each ball down to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are brown.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of smoked cheddar on each patty. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Prepare the Fries

  1. 7

    Cook the Fries

Follow package instructions to cook the frozen French fries until golden and crispy. Season with salt to taste.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the skillet or in a toaster.

  2. 9

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of secret sauce on the bottom bun. Place a patty on top, followed by pickles, lettuce, and onion slices. Top with the second patty and finish with the top bun.
