Method
Preparing the Tea
Boil Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
Steep Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Let them steep for about 5 minutes.
Remove Tea Bags
After 5 minutes, remove the tea bags from the water and discard them.
Sweetening the Tea (Optional)
Add Sweetener
If desired, add 1 cup of granulated sugar or 0.5 cup of honey to the hot tea. Stir until completely dissolved.
Flavoring the Tea (Optional)
Add Flavorings
To enhance the flavor, add 0.5 cup of fresh lemon juice, a bunch of fresh mint leaves, or 1 cup of peach slices to the tea. Stir well.
Cooling and Serving
Cool the Tea
Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate it for at least 2 hours until chilled.
Serve
To serve, fill glasses with 1 cup of ice cubes each. Pour the chilled tea over the ice and garnish with additional lemon slices or mint leaves if desired.
