Method

Preparing the Salad

  1. 1

    Wash and Prepare Mixed Greens

In a large bowl, wash the mixed greens thoroughly under cold water. Spin dry or pat them with a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Chop the Apple

Core and slice the apple into thin wedges or bite-sized pieces. If desired, you can leave the skin on for added texture and nutrients.

  3. 3

    Chop the Dates

Remove the pits from the dates and slice them into smaller pieces to make them easier to distribute throughout the salad.

  4. 4

    Toast the Walnuts

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the walnuts for about 5 minutes or until they are fragrant and lightly browned. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

  5. 5

    Cube the Ewenique Cheese

Cut the ewenique cheese into small cubes or crumbles. This will help it blend well with the other ingredients.

  6. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In the bowl with the mixed greens, add the chopped apple, walnuts, dates, and ewenique cheese. Toss gently to combine all the ingredients.

Making the Sherry Vinaigrette

  1. 7

    Mix the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together the sherry vinegar, olive oil, honey, and Dijon mustard until well combined. Adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 8

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the sherry vinaigrette over the salad mixture. Toss gently to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Salad

Transfer the salad to individual serving plates or bowls. Enjoy fresh as a light meal or a side dish!
