Tostada Base

Method

Tostada Preparation

1

Fry the Tortillas

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add each corn tortilla one at a time, frying until they are crisp and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Ahi Tuna Preparation

2

Prepare the Ahi Tuna

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and grated ginger. Add the ahi tuna steak and marinate for about 15 minutes. After marinating, remove the tuna and pat dry. Using a sharp knife, slice the tuna into thin strips and sprinkle with black sesame seeds.

Avocado and Salad Assembly

3

Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine diced cucumber, sliced fennel, and segmented orange. Drizzle with olive oil, add chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to combine.

4

Slice the Avocados

Cut avocados in half, remove the pit, and slice into thin wedges.

Assembly

5

Assemble the Tostadas

On each fried tortilla, layer avocado slices, then add the marinated ahi tuna strips. Top with the cucumber-fennel citrus salad. Serve immediately.
