Cheese Dip

Crispy Corn Tortilla Chips

Method

Cheese Dip

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes with green chilies, and diced jalapeños.

  2. 2

    Add Spices

Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  3. 3

    Cook the Dip

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the cheese mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cheeses are melted and the dip is smooth, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Serve

Transfer the cheese dip to a serving bowl and keep warm.

Crispy Corn Tortilla Chips

  1. 5

    Cut the Tortillas

Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Season the Chips

While the chips are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.

  5. 9

    Serve with Dip

Arrange the crispy tortilla chips on a platter next to the warm cheese dip for serving.
